Grandma's House

We've moved and we're all settled in now. And let me tell you,
It is weird.
This isn't my house. It's Grandma's house.
I keep having weird flashbacks and stuff. In a sentimental moment, I went all around the yard and in some parts of the house and snapped photographs. I want to put them in some sort of book of memories, along with pieces of the wallpaper, carpet, linoleum, bathroom shower tiles and maybe the kitchen sink.
I'm joking.
Partly.
It's just that there's so much that's going to change and it tears me up inside a little. Brycen thinks I'm too attached, and he's probably right.
In any case, I'm not letting it keep me from getting to work. We've slowly been making progress on tearing out the carport to make place for a garage. We've (read: Brycen) cut back a stubborn bush, and now just have to tug it out after we cut some more roots. My plan was to get on top today and start shoveling off the gravel, but alas... it rains. I did move more stuff from the shed part of it though and discovered some mud wasps. Did you know there are mud wasps? I didn't until today. It's good to know that I'm still learning even though I'm out of school. I killed some that were too cold to move. That may seem unfair, but when one of them started moving enough to shake its little stinger butt, I lost all qualms about smashing them.
Here's a list!
Favorite things about being here:
1) tons of space. Way more than we need, actually, but we'll enjoy it while it lasts.
2) Memories
3) WE'RE the upstairs neighbors now
4) Awesome ward.
5) so many trees; so many birds :) Bird songs make me smile. and quails. and deer. I should've been a Disney princess.

Anyway, life is still good. Hope the same is true for all of you!

  2. I was totally sentimental about everything too. It's hard to change things up.

Don't feel bad about killing the wasps. I'm sure they'll have their revenge later.

I like your idea of saving random pieces from her house. Do it, do it! I'll scrapbook it all if you want.
